Oh, Wicker Park! I love this Chicago neighborhood – in all its gritty, boheme glory. Lyndsay and Reid were the perfect subjects to really bring the well-worn, raw and run-down backdrops to life. Even the peeling paint in Wicker Park manages to look cool and artfully done just so, don’t you think?
When Lyndsay and I met during the consultation, it was girl crush at first sight. We clicked just like that – we couldn’t stop laughing together, we’re both die-hard Democrats (how that came up, I have no idea!), and at one point I said to Lyndsay, you MUST be an Aries, like me. She said yes, and we both screamed! See? Girl crush.
Bringing this back to their engagement shoot, needless to say, it was non-stop laughter – after Lyndsay got over some nerves (a little liquid courage during your hair and makeup session never hurts!). I think both Reid and Lyndsay look like natural born models, seriously owning it! Especially in this next shot. Rrrrrrrrr.
All in all, I was happy to get a text from Lyndsay after we parted ways – saying that she’s never felt more confident or sexier than she did during the shoot. There’s nothing I like to hear more! I’ll be shooting Lyndsay and Reid’s wedding in 2014 – cheers to double the confidence by then!

Melissa…what can I say other than you are a true master of your craft. You are so talented and I feel blessed that I stumbled upon you while looking for photographers for our 2014 wedding. Truly, I do. We looked at so many people/companies and nothing moved me. I liken your work to romance meets Vanity Fair.
Also, you ROCK! We love you. You are so sweet. I felt so comfortable with you the instant we met; you are very approachable and friendly as well as professional all at the same time. I have to say, and anyone I know will agree, I HATE pictures of myself. HATE THEM. You helped me pose while making me feel confident and sexy.
Thank you for putting together such an awesome engagement session for Reid and I!
XOXO Lyndsay
