The Art Institute of Chicago is where “happily-ever-after” begins in grand downtown style, and it was the scene of Valerie and Oscar’s chic city wedding last month. From the elevated outdoor terrace offering magical views of the skyline to the prize winning architect-designed Modern Wing, this venue is a photographer’s dream come true – and a sleek blank canvas for any bona fide masterpiece event.
This sweet couple met in college. While Valerie grew up in a small suburb of Chicago, she and new husband Oscar happily reside together in the city they love so much. It’s easy to understand why they wanted their big day to exude downtown-chic style. From portraits at the legendary Palmer House to the bustling city streets (and hello, let’s talk about that next-level cake decked out with an edible skyline!), Valerie designed her wedding like a seasoned artist with a vision.
Pops of bright fuschia dotted her bridesmaids’ attire and accented dinner tables. The minimalist design approach allowed the sparkling glass-curtained room to shine – and the happy newlywed couple radiated in the rich colors that lit up the night. I hope you enjoy a peek into this awesome Chi-town wedding!

p.s. Check out Val’s super cute, very plump furball hanging out! A day as special as this wouldn’t be complete without your four-legged friend. He showed up just for portraits and didn’t leave Val’s side once. Best man?
