When this gorgeous mom-to-be walked into DL Loft, with her incredible purple hair and beaded flower crown, you could already feel the creative sparks in the air. Here is beautiful momma, Lysa, in one of her last photos as a family of four – she and husband Toby welcomed their third child, a sweet baby girl named Leilani, just a short couple weeks ago!
Together with their sons Aiden and Kailer, this gorgeous family was a pleasure to meet. As a maternity photographer in Chicago and beyond, I’ve shot my fair share of expectant mommas, children and families. Lysa and Toby’s older son is a total ham. He reminds me of my own outgoing boy Roman, while Kailer took a little longer to warm up. But all kids love me eventually – I’m like the crazy aunt they talk about for days!

As an on-location maternity and family photographer, one of the most important things is having the best weather – which as you know, in Chicago, is often a bigger feat than it sounds and we didn’t luck out on the day of Lysa’s maternity session. Fortunately for us, I have DL Loft on speed dial – it’s plush and luxurious and dripping in gorgeous natural lighting and is my new favorite urban location to shoot. I’ve done several portrait sessions at the loft, including this one here.
