The bride, Aqsa, was adorned with henna and everyone rejoiced in one big party that some might say rivals a wedding reception. There was an explosion of vibrant colors filling the Alhambra Palace Restaurant in Chicago and one love-filled moment after another. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I especially love documenting ethnic and multicultural unions, and observing all the associated rituals and customs that take place prior to the wedding ceremony. The bride’s sisters put on a fun choreographed dance, and so did the cutest little kids, including her nephew. I’ve heard that some believe that the darker the color of the Mehndi, the more the bride’s husband will love her – not that Aqsa will have any problems with this, judging by Adam’s obvious devotion to her!
The entire week I spent with this couple truly embraced so many gorgeous details – it’s like henna on a bride’s hands, which you will see the finished result in bridal portraits in an upcoming blog post featuring Aqsa and Adam’s wedding!
