The tone that a boudoir photo shoot takes is largely set by the client’s energy when she walks in the studio. In this case, my couple, Dana and Kao, who have been married for years, set that tone. As a boudoir photographer, I pay close attention to their personality, their style, and the purpose for their session. Then, my creative juices ebb and flow in that direction for the duration of the shoot.
When Dana walked in to the room at the Lincolnshire Marriott, exuding a fierce air of “You better work!” (Supermodel, anyone??) I knew right away that this was going to be a radiant, raw and sexy boudoir experience between her and Kao.
My philosophy as a boudoir photographer involves owning your beauty and rocking it. This type of photography is more than just about showing off the body – it’s also about feeling sexy, strong, confident, powerful – any or all of the above! Don’t be afraid to try new things. Sure, sometimes we get your hair and makeup did, and then there’s some post-editing involved, but I pride myself on being able to bring that inner bombshell to light without completely changing someone’s authentic appearance. Of course, the wine helps, too 😉
