Blush pinks, touches of gold and bronze, towering floral arrangements, sparkly details – this wedding day was perfectly pretty in so many ways! Maryam and Behrad were married at the Hilton Chicago and its Grand Ballroom was the perfect venue for their romantic and lavish affair. (You might remember these hotties from their recent engagement session here.) Be sure to scroll down for the Sofreyeh Aghd, an elaborate floor spread at Persian weddings that includes several kinds of symbolic food and decorations – seriously one of the most gorgeous visual food displays that I’ve ever seen! Maryam has such amazing style, and coupled with the design magic of Yanni Design Studio and day-of coordination by Julie B Events, not a single detail was left overlooked.
As a Chicago wedding photographer who has seen it all, I’m not sure I can pin down one exact detail that made Maryam and Behrad’s wedding day so amazing, but it might have had something to do with the heartfelt ceremony bound in cultural traditions, glittery details like the bridesmaids’ embellished dresses, all their overjoyed family and friends, or the celebrity Persian singer Andy Madadian who performed that night!
I appreciated how these two trusted me entirely when it came to photos and how they allotted plenty of time in the day for portraits (taken at the Formal Gardens in Grant Park across from the Hilton), resulting in what are possibly some of my favorite wedding portraits of all-time! Everyone looks relaxed, happy and natural. As you can see, I did a terrible job of narrowing them down for this blog post, but I just can’t get enough of that amazing soft light, those dreamy colors, and all that joyful emotion.
