I just got home not too long ago and needless to say I’m pooped from shooting all day…in the rain, running in the wet sand, and standing on my 4 inch heels (I took off the heels for the sand part. I’m not crazy). I’m not complaining at all, though it sounded like I am. I love my job. I love making sacrifices like this just for an awesome shot. Today’s wedding took place at St. Athanasius Parish in Evanston and the reception was held at The Grove Redfield Estate. Beautiful place for a reception. It looks like an old mansion. Glad I got a chance to shoot there.
Tonight while massaging my poor angry feetsies (is that even a work?) I got to thinking about a photographer I met about 8 months ago. I told him I much I hated my job and how I’m following my passion by starting my photography business. He said I reminded him a lot of Jasmine Star. Believe it or now, I actually didn’t know who she was at the time. Jasmine is a now famous photographer following her success after she quit law school three years ago to pursue wedding photography. That was three years ago!! And now she’s everywhere! Lecturing, teaching, and still blogging. Gosh, I WISH I can be as successful as she is. Hats off to her!!! I have been following her blogs as of recent and she talks about the hunger she had three years ago to start her wedding photography business after she got inspired by her wedding photographer at her very own wedding. David Jay was her photography. Awesome photography to be inspired by!! I KNOW what she means by that hunger!! Nothing makes me happier than to risking my career just so I can feed my hunger. Still hungry!! Someone feed me! Haha. Some day. Either way, I’m still happy with what I have right now. Taking it one day at a time. I have faith. Lots of faith.
Ok, nitey nite for now. Giant’s already passed out on the couch. Next time I’ll blog about SK-II since I’m banned from talking about it around the house for two weeks!! Hehe. Have a great weekend everyone!!
