The sorority girls from Delta Gamma kicked off their year by throwing a bash at the beautiful The Nail Lounge Salon and Spa in Lincoln Park. When Giant and I walked into the salon that day, it was quite the scene. There was easily over 80 girls in the 2500 square foot salon. I don’t think I’ve seen so many women in one room. Haha. Super sweet girls that’s excited about making new friends and getting “nailed” (yes, I know, I’m so funny)!! Hahaha

I came across Tipsy Cake when I was shooting an engagement party a few weeks ago. Giant and I stopped by their bakery last week to take a few quick shots of their amazing work. All the details that goes into making a cake is absolutely amazing. I just can’t believe the amount of artistry that’s involved in creating a cake.

So as Giant and I were leaving, Naomi (the brains behind Tipsy Cake) walked us out and since she knew we were newlyweds, she asked where was our wedding reception held. We told her it was Flatwater. Well, to make a long story short, we found out that Tipsy Cake made our red velvet cupcakes that EVERYONE raved and talked about!! Just a week ago my girlfriend and I was just talking about our amazing cupcakes at my wedding. I just can’t believe we found the baker!! All this time we thought it was Flatwater that made our cupcakes!!

You’ve all got to check out Tipsy Cake. Not only are they all artist and masters of their craft, their cakes taste absolutely amazing. And I don’t even like sweets!!!! Check them out @http://www.tipsycakechicago.com/

Shayda and I have known each other casually for about a handful of years now. When she emailed me asking me to photograph her trash the dress session, I was more than thrilled. When Shayda and her mom met at my place to prepare for her trash the dress, we were a little bit disappointed because it started to rain. Shayda was a little bit nervous because she just came from getting her hair nicely blown. So I had to think quickly of a place to shoot this session and I immediately thought of the West Loop area where we shot my trash the dress event a few short weeks ago. With that location, we at least had the expressway over our head to keep us dry.

I must say that I was pleasantly SHOCKED how comfortable Shayda was in front of the camera. She didn’t even need any time to warm up at all. As soon as I hit that first shutter, she was ON!! I had such a hard time editing her pictures because I was picking EVERY SINGLE PICTURE to edit because they all, in my opinion, turned out beautiful. Let me know what you think?? I love you Shayda!! Thank you for allowing me to “trash your dress”. Gosh we had soooooo much fun!!!! We were giggling like little girls!
