I have no idea where my head was this day but Giant and I ended meeting Dana and Mike for their e-session at opposite sides of the earth. I totally got the locations mixed up and I’ve never done that before. Thankfully both Dana and Mike were sooooo sweet and understanding about it. Though I must say it was hard for me to forgive myself. They couldn’t have picked a better day for this e-session because it was a gorgeous day to shoot.

Mike is in the Marine Core (salute!) and Dana is a biomedical engineer. They met when they were really young but didn’t started dating till much later in their lives. Their wedding is October of this year and Michelle from Misha Media (one of the sweetest and most talented photographer in Chicago) will be photographing their wedding. Dana found out at the last minute that Mike was only going to be in town for just a few days so Dana had to book something quick. It was a nice and fun session at the Chicago Botanical Gardens before they head off to Ravina to see Tony Bennett perform.

Congrats to the two of you and thank you so much for being so patient. I can’t wait to see your wedding pictures from Michelle!

oooooooooh, looks so beautiful… love it!

So I’ve been having a hard time finding a bride that’s willing to do a trash the dress session in Chicago.  I’ve spoken to some fellow photographer’s in Chicago that’s never done it in Chicago as well.  So I’ve decided to find myself a beautiful model and a beautiful wedding dress and do my own trash the dress session.  In the midst of planning this photo session, I decided, heck, why don’t I just invite my fellow photographers along for the shoot.  I never really get to see them nor have I really shot with them.  I figured it’ll be a good time for us to all get together, learn, and have FUN!!  Now we all can add a trash the dress session to our catalog.  I decided to put together this event last night and was SHOCKED with the response I’ve gotten.  Not just from my fellow Chicago photographers but the surrounding state as well.  It actually got me thinking that I should maybe host another TTD before it gets cold out?  Here’s a picture of my own TTD for those of you that don’t know what it is.  These photos was taken by Mili Ghosh from Memories In Motion.

Chicago Trash the Dress

So I accidentally deleted an entire album (engagement session) off of my hard drive and emptied out my trash bin.  I went into straight panic mode last night.  I have NEVER done anything like that.  EVER!!  I immediately Twittered/Facebook asking for help from ANY photographers that was up at 2am.  Lain Eubank messaged me and spent some time trying to troubleshoot.  We tried again today but no luck.  You have no idea how thankful I am that she reached out in the middle of the night.  After talking to Lain I realized I should start writing my obituary.  So after Giant came home from a long day of work, I almost literally threw him in front of the computer and basically made him figure it out.  He knows NOTHING about Lightroom.  Five hours later and the album is back up!!!!  I don’t know how he does it.  But he did.  And he does it everytime.  I always know that if I’m stuck anywhere that’s computer related I can count on my Giant to come and rescue.  He’s like my knight in armor for computers!!!
