I had such a great time photographing this band. It was raining all day until it was time for this session and the rain suddenly stopped until the very end of the shoot. It was fun shooting for them because the energy was so pure and unique. We shot around the train tracks in the West Loop and while we were waiting for the trains to pass by, they all took one look at each other and decided to do a quick impromtu performance. Right by the tracks!! It was so cool and fun!! I actually did not have time to check out their music until after the shoot and I must say, their music is sooooo cool!!! I showed Giant their videos and we’re now big fans!!! We LOOOOOVE, love, love them!! We’re am kinda upset w/ ourselves for not catching their tour when they were in Chicago last week. They’re from Boston. So if you’re around the Boston area, do check them out! Check them out at www.LakeStreetDive.com!

melissa, we had a great time. easy-going and free-spirited. i wish all photo shoots could be that way. see you next time!

Mekhi is my adorable nephew and probably the cutest baby ever!! Every time I see him I just smother him to death. A week without seeing him is almost pure torture. I heart him!!

I’ve known Yen since we were little kids. It’s still so weird to see your childhood friend getting engaged. We actually haven’t seen each other or been in touch since, gosh, high school maybe? We’re talking over 15 years. This beautiful woman has NOT AGED one bit!!!!

Yen and John were supposed to be married the weekend I photographed this session. Yen got into an accident while attending a mutual friend of ours wedding in Cancun. Because of that accident, it lead Yen and John to postponing their wedding till next year. Nevertheless, John was with Yen day and night nursing her back to health. As you can see, he did an amazing job!!!

When Yen asked me to photograph her engagement, of course I was delighted to do so! This was my first time meeting John and it was nowhere near being an awkward meeting. John knows how to keep the conversation flowing. Haha. I can see in his eyes that he ADORES and worships her. They’re so cute!!

The session started off at Union Station and we worked our way to Lasalle Street, also known as “The Canyon”. Hope the pictures was worth the wait Yen!! Once again, congrats to you two!!!
