Though my due date for #3 looms near (just three weeks away!), I’m working up to the last minute and loving it. I could call this a “Just Married” shoot as this glowing couple you see here are newlyweds – Amrita and Amit recently tied the knot in their hometown of Boston and came to Chicago to host another reception for family and friends here in the Midwest!

This shoot was a fun one. It was my first time in the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, which is totally an architectural marvel from the outside and a gorgeous interior, to boot. Amrita is stunning – beauty queen stunning, actually – I believe her multi-watt smile could be examined as a new alternative energy source.

Though our shoot was a quick one (these two were amazing clients and so pleasant to work with), there’s nothing I can say about their connection, the love I could feel emanate between them, about the fun that was had — both theirs and mine — that the images don’t say better.

Congrats, Amrita and Amit!

    Stunning. Beautiful images <3

People in minivan commercials do seem so happy. Is it because they now own a living room on wheels so they can simultaneously throw down their shopping bags AND buckle their small army in? Or is it because of the automatic sliding doors? I have two words for you. Life. Changing.

I know because we have a swagger wagon now. True story.

When The Giant insisted we trade up for one of these babies to accommodate for Baby 3.0, I wanted to smack him over the head. Sure, my mind appreciates the convenience and practicality of the minivan, but this was one line in the sand I said I will never cross. My Murano was my last tie to my city roots, after all – and yet I begrudgingly allowed Michael to hold my hand and help me make the leap to what is basically a small school bus.

Did I tell you that sliding doors are effing awesome?

Here in no man’s land (a.k.a. suburbia) where it is mainly vertical parking, the necessity to get kids – and soon, an infant car seat – in and out while sandwiched between other mammoth suburban SUVs trumps everything. The struggle is real.

So even though my suburban nightmare came true and I might still throw up a little in my mouth when I see our van, I learned two things: that we should never say never, and that we must embrace change to make room for the sweetest, most important things in life, like new babies and expanding families*. And stacked minivans.

Anyway, the info is quite cutting-edge, so just like it.

It was another gray wintry day in Chicago when we shot this mini family session with the Patels. Meet Neepa, Sandeep, and their four-month old baby boy Shay, who was positively a little ray of sunshine. All bundled up at Busse Woods, the new family of three looked such at ease. I could see how much Neepa and Sandeep loved each other and the love that they had for sweet baby Shay. By the way, doesn’t Shay have the BEST lips (and lip curls!) ever? It was wonderful meeting this family and watching the sweet way they interacted. I have a good job.
