Hola from Mexico!

If I was craving XOCO before, then I can now say with 100% certainty – I satisfied my craving with tons of amazing Mexican food while in Cancun last week for six awesome days! My two Giants and Grandma came along for a fantastic destination wedding I was shooting – and it was a blast!

A few monumental “firsts” happened on this trip:

  1. Grandma wore a bathing suit! Dipped in a pool! Snorkeled!
  2. Little G learned how to say “Me!”.  He also learned how to say the word “Grandma” in Vietnamese!
  3. Little G tolerated sand! (Trust me – this is HUGE!)

We stayed at the stunning Azul Sensatori Hotel Mexico. What’s not to love about beach vacays and waking up to views of the ocean, lazy lunches on the beach, cat-napping under huts? Little G could name a few, including:

  1. Ocean water
  2. Sand
  3. Swimminng in the cenotes (underwater sinkholes)

Oh, yes, he also still hates bubbles.

So, besides a few minor freakouts over sand, Little G was great in Mexico! I was worried about how he would adapt to the time change, but other than being tired and grumpy one afternoon, all was good.

I love my job – being able to combine my passion for travel and family with my work is such a blessing. Special thanks to Grandma who was a huge help! – Little G can’t stop asking for you!

Enjoy the rest of our trip photos, and hasta luego!

p.s. Wedding shoot was flawless – we’ll save the details for another post! Stay tuned!

Busy weekend (and week) ahead! Have a few condo showings, a long wedding shoot, and packing for our trip to MEXICO!! We leave super early on Sunday morning which means I’ll barely have time to sleep after the wedding – thankfully I was born with more than enough energy to keep me going. Just wanted to leave you with a little weekend inspo . . .  enjoy!

Quinoa Fried Rice | I never would have thought to sub healthy, fluffy quinoa for stale white rice. Thank you, Pinterest!

Dreamy Master Bath | It’s practically the size of our entire loft! Elements here that inspire me – chandelier and giant ottoman (with a throw casually tossed over it, obviously). I could live in this bathroom, what about you?

Wizard of Oz Cupcakes | This is a fun theme for a kid’s birthday party. Perhaps for Little G’s 2nd, or maybe Lil Wee G’s first??

Bacon Pancake Dippers | Genius! A complete breakfast in one!

Amazing Light Canopy | A myriad of twinkling lights and otherwise simple event décor make for a very delighted photographer.

Finao ONE Flush Mount Vertical Lust Opaline

Did you know that you can add-on a custom album to any one of my photography packages? Typically my wedding packages include this service, but lately I’ve been seeing an uptick in a number of other clients – ranging from portrait to boudoir – adding on albums.

Finao ONE Flush Mount Vertical Lust Opaline

Like Brenda, for instance. Check out her custom album by Finao showcasing Brenda’s recent “Just Because” shoot at Cuneo Mansion and Gardens. (Click here to read why I was commissioned for this and to see more of the shoot!)

Finao ONE Flush Mount Vertical Lust Opaline

My clients often play a role in designing the album with me so that it becomes a true reflection of their personality. Brenda picked out the colors here herself – a beautiful Opaline for the cover, accented with Lust. This one reads “A little bit sweet, a little bit naughty,” don’t you think? (This is Brenda’s second album with me – the first was of her Boudoir shoot, perhaps that one should have been accented with Lust!)

Brenda’s album comes beautifully wrapped in an exquisite portfolio box. The packaging is entirely handmade – packaged with paper handmade from recycled pineapple leaves and finished with a paper ribbon from recycled mulberry leaves. The enhancement is made from skeleton leaves and dried flowers.

Don’t forget to ask me about designing your own custom album!
